Native to Southern California and Mexico. Spectacular plant growing to 8 feet or more. Flowers up to 9 inches wide, with 5-6 white crepe paper-like petals surrounding round cluster of gold stamens June-July, fragrant. Needs full sun, tolerates varying amounts of water and soil types. Good on hillsides for erosion control. Cut almost to the ground in early fall.
